Green Tea (Bamboo Weave Packaging)
Weight: 25G
Description
Green tea from Nepal rarely gets the credit it deserves, mostly because it's compared against Japanese sencha or Chinese longjing instead of judged on its own terms. Lumbini Tea House sources young, minimally oxidized leaves from the eastern hill gardens and pan-fires them quickly to lock in a grassy, vegetal character with none of the bitterness that plagues mass-market green tea bags.
The leaves are whole, not dust-grade, which matters more than most people realize, whole leaf tea releases its antioxidants and flavor gradually, giving a smoother cup even at longer steep times. This is the tea to reach for on the days that call for clarity rather than a jolt: light on caffeine, easy on an empty stomach, and quietly good for the metabolism.
It's a staple order among the wellness-focused travelers who pass through the shop, and one of the few green teas in Kathmandu made without shortcuts.

Flavor Notes
- Fresh, grassy, and slightly vegetal with a pale golden-green liquor
- Whole-leaf grade, smoother and less bitter than dust or fannings
- Mild natural sweetness with a clean, brisk finish
- Lower caffeine than black tea; gentle on the stomach
- Rich in natural antioxidants from minimal processing
How To Prepare
- Use 1 teaspoon (about 2g) per cup
- Cool boiled water to 75–80°C before pouring full boil scorches green tea and causes bitterness
- Steep for 2 minutes only; longer steeping turns the cup harsh
- Do not add milk; enjoy black, with honey if desired
- Leaves can be re-steeped once for a lighter second cup
- Store away from light and humidity to preserve freshness
